Steven Levy Enterprises buys and sells new, unused, and used industrial surplus solenoid valves. Browse our inventory of solenoid valves available for purchase. A solenoid valve is an electrically controlled valve. The valve features a solenoid, which is an electric coil with a movable ferromagnetic core (plunger) in its center. Solenoid valves are control units which either shut off or allow fluid flow. Tell us what surplus solenoid valves you have for sale or call us at 713-910-4337.
Most if not all starters on the market will include the starter solenoid with the replacement starter for this car. You may be able to purchase the parts separate but it is not common practice since it adds labor to the job of replacing the starter. If you are having a problem where the starter is just clicking but does not crank then your solenoid is operating but may not be sending power to the starter motor or the starter motor is just not turning. I would recommend having a mechanic like a mobile mechanic from YourMechanic come to you and diagnose the no crank condition. You may need a starter replacement or have another issue like bad battery or cables and a mechanic can check entire system to make sure entire system is fixed correctly.
A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device in a hydraulic circuit that uses an electric current to generate a magnetic field and thus actuate a solenoid that controls the opening of the fluid flow in a valve.
When choosing a solenoid valve, you will need to know what type of media it will be used for. As a general rule solenoid valves are designed to operate with media without solid particles such as water, oil, petroleum products, steam, compressed air or heat transfer fluids. This important information allows you to define the materials your solenoid valve will be made of. Most solenoid valves are made of brass (ideal for water, fuel, air or inert gas), stainless steel (for corrosive liquids or gases, food product liquids) or plastic (mainly in the food and chemical sectors).
Solenoid valves can be two-way or have multiple ports. They are generally defined by two digits, one determining the number of ports and the other the number of positions. For example, a 3/2 solenoid valve is one with 3 ports and 2 positions.
If necessary, you can also choose a bistable solenoid valve whose flap remains in position even in the event of a power failure. The main advantage of these solenoid valves is that they use very little energy.
Solenoid valves are generally sensitive to moisture. You must check the external conditions in order to choose a solenoid valve with a sufficient protection class (IP) for the intended environment. You can also choose a lower protection rating and remotely install the solenoid valve in a less humid area.
A pilot-operated solenoid valve uses the pressure difference between the upstream and downstream media to open and close. As a result it can only be used in one direction. The coil is in this case used to give the opening or closing signal, it does not require a lot of electrical power. On the other hand, this type of solenoid valve is used for high flow applications to ensure that the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the solenoid valve is sufficient for it to operate.
A direct-operated solenoid valve does not require a pressure difference to operate because the coil acts directly on the diaphragm or valve, but it can require a large amount of electrical power. This type of solenoid valve is used for low flow rates, with a pressure that can vary from 0 bar to the maximum pressure of the circuit.
A solenoid valve is required if you need to control the flow of a liquid or gas, whether it is in automatic control or on/off. In other words, you can use a solenoid valve for example to open or close a circuit, to dose products, to mix gases or liquids, etc.
To determine the optimal size for your solenoid valve, you need to know the flow rate, which allows you to determine the flow factor (kv). The flow factor is a theoretical value that indicates the volume of water at room temperature that flows through the solenoid valve with a pressure drop of 1 bar for one minute. It can be indicated in liters per minute (l/min) or in cubic meters per hour (m3/h).
You will also need to know the inlet pressure and determine the outlet pressure, which will allow you to define the pressure drop of the solenoid valve. For a pilot-operated solenoid valve, the pressure drop must be at least equal to the minimum differential pressure necessary for the system to operate properly.
Please note, some pneumatic directional control valves or hydraulic directional control valves may be similar to solenoid valves but their operating principle is different. They are mainly found on pneumatic or hydraulic circuits to control actuators.
Part Number: #80923Manufacturer: Elkay ManufacturingMfg Number: 98466CThis New Style Solenoid Valve 98466C is from Elkay. The solenoid controls the on/off of the valve. When the push bar is pressed and it receives the signal, it opens up the valve and lets the water flow through. Once the push bar is released the valve closes and prevents water from continuing to flow through.

I found incredibly hard to find online stores which sell fluid related hardware. I'm designing a filling machine and I need solenoid valve to let me select between filling sources. I was wondering whether there exist pololu-like store for fluid related hardware but I could not find any. Suggestions
Solenoid valves are comprised of two primary parts, the solenoid part and the valve part. The solenoid part is pretty easy to select and interface with an arduino. It's just a matter of what the coil voltage (value, AC, DC) and current requirements are, that will determine what interface components will be needed between the arduino and the solenoid coil.
A common question we are often asked is whether a solenoid valve should be repaired or replaced. Solenoid valves are of many different qualities. This impacts their performance as well as durability. Here are some important points to consider while making a decision.
If cost is your main consideration, then it makes more sense to replace your hydraulic solenoid valve rather than repair it. A new one is generally cheaper when compared to the expense of repairing it.

PINPOINT Electronic CO2 Solenoid with separate bubble counter for the precise addition of CO2 gas. This solenoid will control CO2 gas flow from a steady stream to a few bubbles per minute with a simple adjustment.
Solenoids are basically electromagnets: they are made of a big coil of copper wire with an armature (a slug of metal) in the middle. When the coil is energized, the slug is pulled into the center of the coil. This makes the solenoid able to pull (from one end) or push (from the other)This solenoid in particular is nice and strong, with a 40mm long body and a 'captive' armature with a return spring. This means that when activated with up to 12VDC, the solenoid moves and then the voltage is removed it springs back to the original position, which is quite handy. Many lower cost solenoids are only push type or only pull type and may not have a captive armature (it'll fall out!) or don't have a return spring. This solenoid has 4xM3 (metric) threaded holes in the bottom for easy mounting. To drive a solenoid you will need a power transistor and a diode, check this diagram for how to wire it to an Arduino or other microcontroller. You will need a fairly good power supply to drive a solenoid, as a lot of current will rush into the solenoid to charge up the electro-magnet, about 250mA, so don't try to power it with a 9V battery! Works best with a 12V power supply.
Maxseal ICO3S is a highly reliable and low-maintenance solenoid valve that is perfect for use in demanding industries. ATEX approval comes as standard, making it ideal for use in oil and gas, offshore, chemical and refinery applications.
Eaton provides stand-alone, line replacable unit solenoid valves that are direct acting and feature either a ball-and-seat or poppet-and-seat design. All of our solenoids are repairable, and electrical redundancy can be increased using duplex to quadplex coil designs.
The gamma/ X solenoid diaphragm metering pump is user-friendly and has a long service life. A sophisticated solenoid control system measures the back pressure present, protects the system from overload and ensures uniform dosing regardless of pressure. In addition, the gamma/ X detects and compensates for air in the dosing head.
The Pneumatic Solenoid Driver Cable is this same driver cable that is included in the Pneumatic Kits. This cable takes the digital On\\Off signal and controls the 5V power applied to a pneumatic solenoid.
Solenoid valves are used for heating air compressor, and they are essentially used in compressed air. A compressor solenoid valves are essential for a compressed air system. A compresso
