I was applying for a serious job and the company ran a background check on me. After this check, I was rejected, they told me that I don’t fit the company’s aspirations and needs. Of course I asked for a copy of that background check, because they had no other reasons to reject me and I saw there a lot of criminal records that don’t belong to me. Tha name on the report was the same, the address to but the SSN was different so I supposed that Checkr made a mistake during his check. How can I remove those criminal records and ask for a good and correct report?

That sounds really frustrating — background check errors do happen sometimes when information from people with similar names or addresses gets mixed up. With Checkr, you usually have the right to dispute incorrect information directly. You can file a dispute through their portal, submit proof of your identity (like your SSN, ID, or supporting documents), and they’re legally required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to investigate and correct mistakes.
While waiting, it’s also smart to focus on keeping your personal and professional profile as strong as possible. Just like with exams, preparation matters. For example, when I was preparing for my academic future, I enrolled in a SAT Preparation Course in Abu Dhabi — it gave me confidence to handle challenges the right way. Same goes here: fixing the report is one part, but continuously working on your personal growth will keep you moving forward no matter what setbacks come up.
Stay proactive, file that dispute, and don’t let one error stop your progress. 💪
