In an interview with The Korea Herald in December, Kwon Sang-woo -- who directed the blockbuster "Bold," the original title of which is "Vengeance," directed by Jang Jin, about an obsessed suspect in a serial killing case -- also mentioned that he was eager to make his next film at the Busan Film Festival. Last year, he directed the blockbuster film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" and the film collected $842.6 million at the box office.
"Killing" is a thriller about a country's top scriptwriter who returns to his hometown after becoming infamous as a media mogul through writings full of gangster thrill, and is followed by the members of a mysterious association of criminals. "Ode to the Goose" is a tense movie set in Seoul, in which a journalist goes to the U.S. and seeks the help of Yoo Ho-beom (Park Shin-hye) in solving a horrific murder case. "First Night Nerves" is about a rookie police officer who finds a bag containing extraordinary objects inside a murder case. After leaving his police force, he acts as a detective to hunt a person who has been committing crimes around him.
In other Busan Festival-related activities, a documentary about Korean indie moviemaker Hee-chul (1969- ) is set to be shown at the Busan Film Festival Memorial Hall on Nov. 27, and the Korean Film Festival's 20th anniversary will be commemorated by screening the most significant movies of the last 20 years at its new Hall scheduled to open next year.
