Then the shipping label which prints at size 99.1 x 139mm on an A4 sheet. This can be taped or placed in a document enclosed envelope on the outside of the box. I just use inkjet printer for this one.
The FBA help pages state that the supported item labels is 1" x 2(5/8)". I read somewhere in the thread that people were using different sizes depending on the size of bar code that needed to be covered up. Can you recommend an item label brand to use? I have heard Avery supply these labels but wanted to see if there were any good alternatives.
Hi Tim, you can use other sizes, Dymo 99010, 99012, and 99014 are the most popular. we have a 450 and it comes with software where you can make up barcodes etc and then save them if it is a regular print job. I have used the Amazon print your labels before and imported the label into the Dymo software. We use compatible labels available on Amazon which does work out cheaper. I would not be without our Dymo now!

It should go on a smooth portion of the packaging, avoiding the opening of the box, all curves, and the corners. If your product has multiple layers of packaging, make sure the label is scannable without opening or disturbing it. Also, avoid placing labels in an inconspicuous location, like the inside cover of a book.
If your item is already in a consumer-ready box or packaging, you'll want to make sure the warehouse team doesn't open it, altering its selling condition. The best way to do this is to add either of these labels to the outside of the box: "Ready to Ship" or "Single item enclosed. Do not open." Once your label is applied, place the ready-to-ship box inside a separate box for shipping.
The outermost box must contain a shipping label, and you wouldn't put that on a consumer-facing box. These labels also work in conjunction with, or in place of, the "sold as set" labels. They notify warehouse personnel not to disrupt the arrangement or packaging of an item.
According to Amazon, expiration dates must be labeled in the following format: MM-DD-YYYY. (You can forgo the day of the month if that information isn't available.) These labels must be visible, in size 36 font or larger on the master carton and on the individual units. Each carton can only have one expiration date and can't also have the manufactured date displayed.
When shipping your products to Amazon, you want to make sure the two shipping labels are properly placed and easily identifiable. The labels shouldn't be placed over the seam of the box or around a corner or curve. Amazon prefers side placement of the labels and a 1.25" margin between the box edge and the label.
We've created sheets cut to the exact size of the labels. Load our labels into your printer as you normally would, print, and simply peel off the perfectly-sized labels. There's no cutting or taping involved and you can order as many, or as few, as you'd like. Bonus: you can order them in our weatherproof material so they'll stand up against the elements during shipping and the test of time during handling.
Most e-commerce sellers eventually find that they spend too much time packing boxes, printing labels, and shipping packages. After all, they have more important things to do, like growing their business! When this happens, they may turn to a product shipping service, otherwise known as a third-party logistics (3PL) company.
You can get shipping labels from individual carriers in-person or online, by printing a shipping label at home through personal shipping software, or by letting a 3PL handle it (you only pay for shipping).
When the ship from address does matter is when you are preparing your shipment (this is a separate step I address later). This address will be used to prepare your UPS shipping labels and is important.
These are not shipping labels. These are FNSKUs that you can put on your items. If your items already have either a UPC barcode or FNSKU printed on them (see our Amazon barcoding article) then this will not apply to you.
Hi, thanks for a comprehensive step-by-step guide. We are selling two products (same type but different sizes and design) and we will be sending both products (180 units for each SKU and packed in separate cartons, or case packed) of 30 cartons each, 60 cartons in total. We will be palletizing them. We have created an FBA shipping label for the two products and we were given 60 shipping labels. Our question is, will Amazon have a problem determining which cartons contain the 30 cartons from the other 30 cartons? Are they going to open up all the boxes, look at the FNSKUs, and separate the 30 cartons from the other 30 cartons (with the different FNSKU)? Or do we need to create an FBA shipping label for only the 30 cartons (so we will have 1 of 30, 2 of 30, etc.) and create a separate shipping plan for the other 30 cartons?
If your product does have multiple pieces it should all be contained within one package and a pro-tip here is always double-check the overall size of your packaging. So that it doesn't bump your product into the next sized Amazon fee tier. If you need to stay within the limited standard size tier your product needs to be within these size constraints. If your packaging does not meet these requirements it will strike you into the next size tier which will increase your fees.
The warning should be published or set in a prominent location and in readable font size for the bag. The thickness of the bag should be at least 1.5 mil. The bag must be transparent and must have the barcode meaning the UPC or FNSKU barcode in a scannable location through the bag or on the outside of the bag must be entirely sealed, and the bag must not protrude more than three inches past the dimensions of the product.
You can get the FNSKU from the manage inventory page by clicking the drop-down menu and going to print item labels or while you're creating a shipping plan if you choose who labels as merchant meaning you're going to label your units you get the option here to print the FNSKU labels. By selecting print you're actually going to save it as a .pdf, so you can email it to your supplier, and they can put it on each one of your products.
Now there are two labels that need to go on them, and they're both called shipping labels. This is the reason this part is often a cause for confusion for all shipments going to Amazon. Amazon requires that you create what's called a shipping plan.
The shipping plan lets Amazon realise what you are shipping in, and the shipping plan will instruct you which fulfillment centers to ship to and print out the subsequent shipping labels to put on the shipping cartons.
Amazon shipping labels are simple to identify the shipping cartons when they reach Amazon. They know what it is and who they belong to. When you finish your shipping plan you can download these shipping labels and email them to your supplier, so they can place them on your shipping cartons.
If you're shipping multiple boxes of different products or quantities for example you want to make sure that the correct labels go on the corresponding shipping cartons, so they go to the right fulfillment center.
So these labels also need to go on each one of your shipping cartons but you most likely won't be dealing with these because your supplier or freight forwarder will set up the shipment, and they will generate these labels and place them on the cartons for you. 781b155fdc
